Thanks to all Narberth residents for their support. Now the real work begins. Please don’t hesitate to email votesurge at gmail.com with ideas and suggestions about what you would like to see happen at borough council.
You don’t have to live in Narberth very long to understand why it is special.
Nationwide, foreclosures and a lack of a true sense of community plague impersonal housing developments. Americans are finally recognizing that a car-based, ‘big box’ lifestyle is unsustainable. The future is communities of smaller, closely-spaced homes, serviced by public transportation, and built around a walkable, mixed-business downtown.
The Narberth we love is an idea whose time has come.
My vision for Narberth is not limited to what Narberth was, but what Narberth should be and what it will be in the future. I would like to help:
Remove the barriers to walkable retail and restaurants in our downtown.
Increase the transparency of Borough government.
Renew the engagement between our police and the community.
Encourage all residents to get involved.
My qualifications for serving you on Narberth Borough Council include:
Leadership and teamwork skills, that I use in my current job at a $7 billion retailer where I have led new initiatives across the U.S. and overseas.
Action on the environment, drove the conversion to recycled and recyclable cardboard and fabric packaging reducing the amount of plastic in landfills by 8 million boxes per year.
Proven fiscal responsibility, demonstrated in my current responsibility for a spend budget over ten times the size of the borough’s budget.
Problem solving, through experience at a major global consulting firm and a University of Pennsylvania PhD in Physics.
Many have noticed that our lawn signs are not the usual boring political signs. They are a unique piece of art. Did you know they were created by a professional illustrator who happens to live right here in our borough? Check out his other art and his upcoming children’s book.
